Field notes

From the Blending Table

Estelí’s low, hot valley floor stresses the plant into thick, oil-heavy leaf — the ligero primings here are the strongest workable tobacco in the country. It ferments slow and dark, and a little of it steers a whole blend.

We are headquartered in this soil. Estelí leaf from our own operation anchors most full-bodied ligas we roll, balanced against sweeter Jalapa and Condega leaf so power never turns to bitterness.
